First, you must take off the cover.  Use the #700 key.
Second, remove the packing material that is over the ribbon (a white styrofoam block)
Third, plug in the connector, below.
Fourth, plug the machine in to 110.
     It will cycle and make a loud squeal.

Fifth:  Press the CL button on the keypad.
Sixth:  Put the cover on.
Seventh:  Put that same #700 key in the top, turn it to the right.
The display will go blank.
Press 6 5 6 9 E
Now - not before - you can program the machine.
