Rapidprint Year Wheel Updates and Replacement

Rapidprint Year wheels

Rapidprint year wheels determine the year portion of the date impression on Rapidprint date and time stamps. When a year wheel expires, the stamp may produce incorrect or incomplete dates, which can create recordkeeping problems for documents, time cards, and compliance-related paperwork.

If your Rapidprint year wheel has expired, the machine does not need to be discarded. The year wheel can be replaced with a new solid brass 4-digit year wheel, restoring proper date function and extending the service life of the stamp.

Service Performed Purpose
Year wheel replacement Restores correct year/date impressions
Internal cleaning Improves reliability and smooth operation
Ribbon feed and impression adjustment Helps produce clear, consistent prints

During service, the stamping mechanism is cleaned and checked for normal operation. Ribbon feed is adjusted and impression quality is evaluated to help reduce light prints, uneven ink coverage, and skipping. Addressing these items at the same time typically reduces repeat downtime and improves overall performance.

Additional repairs can be performed if issues are identified during inspection. In many cases, handling common wear items and adjustments while the unit is open is more efficient than waiting for a second failure.

Common Symptom Typical Cause Corrective Action
Incorrect year/date Expired or worn year wheel Replace year wheel
Faded or uneven print Ribbon feed or impression out of adjustment Adjust ribbon feed and impression
Sticky operation Dirt, old ink, or worn internal parts Clean and tune mechanism

Replacing an expired year wheel is a practical way to keep an existing Rapidprint stamp in service without replacing the entire machine. Accurate date impressions support clean records and reduce manual corrections when a stamp is used in daily workflows.
