Amano MJR7000 Program for a customer

This is a letter we sent a new customer, to help them set up their Amano MJR7000 in late 2026

Unnamed Customer:  MJR7000 installation and programming 9/28/2026
Save this, your receipt, on key, and your manual to a time clock folder.

Let’s start with the mechanical part:
Remove your old clock from the wall.  There may be two #2 Philips screws locking it to the mounting plate. Remove them, remove the clock, leave the plate on the wall.
Remove the plate from the new clock, hang the new clock on the wall using the old plate.
Reattach just ONE screw, you don’t need two.

Look at the keypad.  If it does not tip up, it is locked by a white bolt on the right side, below the CL (or C) button.  Remove and discard this.  Check to make sure the ribbon has not moved out of position.  Discard any packing material.

Look at the lower right of the machine, lower right of the circuit board.  Near the bottom may be a two or 3 prong connector, floating, not connected.  Connect it.  Make sure nothing is hanging in space in need of a home.  Every connector has only ONE socket on the board where it will fit.

Look at your original machine.  On the lower left, you have the old signal board.  Make sure the new one is wired exactly the same.  It will be connected to the mother board. Confirm that the wire connecting from the right side is connecting to the signal board.  Also, be sure you have two wires leaving the machine to power your bells.  It will be easy to see, and easy to complete.
That will be 110V out.  If you have to add any wires, take your time, hurrying takes longer.

Once you are certain all this is correct, plug it in.

The machine might just default and beep, that’s okay.  Check to see that the ribbon has not jammed. If it has, UNPLUG the clock and fix it.  Then plug it in.
Press CLEAR.
If it still makes a lot of racket, call Amano directly at 800 526 2559 They are in Ohio.

Enter the time and date:  1 0 E  2026 # 09 # 1400E  (2PM or whatever your watch says, PLUS 1 minute).  The display will go blank.  Turn the key left, see if the time is correct.  Turn it back to the right.

Enter 2 0 E

See 001 on the left side:  Enter 0 3 1 4 #  1 1 0 1 E  This is DST 2026 Fall and 2027 Spring.

Press E once again, see 003 on the left.  Enter 1 # 0 # O E  then “I” at the far upper left.
Display should go blank.  Pressing the roman numeral one saves the work.

Throughout this process, if you make a mistake, just hit the “C” button to redo your last entry, or to start over, turn the key left then right, which starts you over.  In this case, you’d hit 20E and re-enter from there.  In the next section, you’d hit 21E, and so-on.
