2020 Farm Overtime Labor Laws
Farm Overtime Labor Laws and how to document the hours
As of January 1, 2020, NY farmers must pay non-family members overtime when they cross 60 hours in a 7 day window aka "work week."
To do this, you need either a self totaling punch clock such as the Amano MJR7000 or MJR8000, or an electronic payroll clock.
The MJR7000 can be set to pay everyone OT at 60 hours. You can disregard the separated hours for the non-exempt (aka family) employees.
Alternatively, you can install a computerized clock that can connect to your Windows computer via Ethernet if available, WiFi if available, or USB Thumb Drive (always available).
